Naperville Homes for Sale l The Perfect Choice for Early
Retirees
Naperville has added another title to its list of national
“Best City” accolades. Kiplinger, a popular financial and business magazine,
named Naperville as the “best city in which to retire early”. The
magazine, with the help of data aggregator FindtheBest, identified the top 10
“economically healthy cities where early
retirees should be able to work (if they choose) and prosper during their
second acts.” Rankings were based on crime rate, cost of living, the state's
tax picture and the percentage of the city's population between 45 and 64 years
old.
Why are more and more early retirees buying
Naperville homes for sale?
The main reason is early retirees can enjoy the safety of
the suburbs and still take advantage of all the urban offerings of nearby
Chicago. It takes about an hour aboard the Metra
commuter-rail system to reach Union Station with a $5.75 one-way ticket,
reduced to $2.75 for seniors.
Another advantage of early retirees living in Naperville is
they can meet new friends and peers in the shops and restaurants downtown.
Within walking distance is the Naperville Riverwalk, a 1.75 mile recreational
park, one of the many amenities highlighted in the list. It is a perfect place
for early retirees to jog or stroll and enjoy nature.
Naperville also has a very low crime rate – the second
lowest crime on the list - at 1.66 crimes for every 100 residents.
